Honestly, it's a good book for people just getting started with working out, it would be helpful to have a video to go along with it and really show you the exercises and proper form. Some of the advice was definitely fitness trend and outdated. The exercise routines are pretty solid and he helps explain why form and endurance are so important, nothing revolutionary though and the 'Hollywood' lable to everything is hokey. I think his cardio suggestions get a little extreme if you're not a person...more

Eh. Dated, and has some weird advice. First, he takes basic weight lifting moves and adds the word Hollywood to it in an attempt to make it sound cooler (eg 'Hollywood rows,'). High reps, low weight for fear of 'bulking up' is an outdated and disproven trend. Also, is it really necessary to stretch an individual muscle immediately after working it? Like, do a set, stretch, do next stretch? Seems unnecessary if you're properly warming and stretching at the end.

This book is slightly outdated in its nutrition information, but that is to be expected for how old the book is. Everything else is great and very easy to follow! I've only been working is plan for the past week and a half, but I'm already seeing some results!
this is Steve's first book. he has some updated books and advice online but it is a good place to start. he gives some easy to follow nutrition and exercise routines. I'm supper glad I read it and it gave me the motivation to get started were I haven't been in a while.

For a fitness book, shockingly useful in dieting, regimens, and guidelines to mastering a constantly changing routine towards health.
Okay-David got this book for free when the author gave a presentation at his work. So, if I live in Hollywood, shouldn't I have a Hollywood body? Right.
But it does take away some guilt. He raves about how great walking is--and I feel guilty because I'm *only* walking for exercise and not doing anything more intense. Now I have to add the toning and try his stretches. Ow.
